Changes due to the introduction of the transaction fee
In 2012, the Hungarian Parliament accepted Act CXVI of 2012 on financial transaction fees, which declares that from January 1, 2013, certain transactions including bank transfers fall in the category of dutiable financial services. Thus, financial service providers are bound to pay a duty of 0.2%, up to a maximum value of 6,000 HUF after each transaction, which they are passing on to their clients.
